strange issue with the new 10.5.2 upgrade

hello just wanted to know i am having a strange issue that when i  
start up my mac it sometimes takes a long time to start up and some  
times it doesn't has anyone had this same issue?  by the way i have a  
my book fire wire drive and did a firmware update this morning.
