Strange behavior

For the past several weeks or longer, I've noticed some strange  
behavior in Mail. It might happen elsewhere but I believe its really  
in mail. It appears that the screen refreshes or something as it goes  
black for a second and then it comes back. However, when it returns  
the VO curser has lost its place. So, say I'm reading a lengthy email.  
The display seems to refresh and VO starts at the beginning of the  
email once again. I'm curious if this happens to anyone else or if  
I've done something to cause this?
