The item chooser can be used anywhere on the system and on all  
applications. I use it to quickly find items such as buttons or links  
on a site. You just launch item chooser and type the first few  
characters of the item you're looking for, press the down arrow and  
once you find your selection just press enter twice to select it. This  
is how I use this feature but someone else can weigh in and give there  
opinion.
