OK vashaun what it turned out to be was that my permissions were set
wrong. no idea how it happened but managed to sort it out. i did email
the list to say but i guess you must have missed it. any how thanks
again for your assistance . just out of interest what is the
application you mentioned used for?

You will need a software package called Missing Sync from Mark
Space. You can find it here markspace.com.
