HI,
If I swipe my finger around the click wheel to move up and down menus
or increase decrease volume, I hear clicks. I hear this even if
music is not playing at the time. That will tell me if it's on or
off. I know the clicking is an iption in settings, but sighted help
required to find it.
And yes, if you press and hold the lower play button for about 5
secs, it should go off. It is annoying because that same button does
play/pause onoff and it sometimes goes off and right back on to play.
That's on reason I downgraded to a shuffle. :)

When you say clicks are you speaking of something that you hear
through the speakers or the sound it makes when the button is
pressed on the device? I want to make sure that I don't have a
setting that isn't enabled. Now to turn it off you are saying press
and hold the bottom section of the I Pod's volume wheel and this
will turn it off?

Hi,
Press and hold the down (play) button on the click wheel for
several seconds. It should go off about oh, once every three times
you try it. (Yeah, not the most reliable interface.) I used the
click wheel volume clicks as the audio clue that the thing actually
shut off.
Best,

Listers is there a way to turn the I Pod Mini off?
