hey, Jenny,
it's Jessi from the gdb list! glad to see you here as another possible mac switcher, lol. I'm thinking about switching too. where did you find the list of VO compatable programs? I'd like to take a look at those too, and maybe do the same as you...burn a cd with them all on so if and when i get my mac, I can just install them that way now that we know we can do that. and I'm really glad to know audible really *is* that easy, cuz ooh wee...if I couldn't use my audible, I'd be really unhappy!! if you use audible with ITunes, does it save your place in the book like it does with the regular audible manager?
peace and positivity:)

Subject: Question about loading downloaded programs onto Mac and a questionabout the Mac Book?

Hi,
Last night and today I spent time looking up programs I want on my Mac, when I get it.

I found loads of programs on the VO compadable programs list, plus a few fun ones, screen savers and the talking moose program for example...

I've got them all downloaded to this windows computer in a folder called Mac Software.

My question is...

When I get my Mac, can I just burn a CD with the programs on it as like a data CD and run it on the Mac?

I think it would work because I'd just be putting the dmg and zip things on a CD and don't see why the Mac would care what sort of computer burrned it, but I don't know.

If anyone knows the answer to this that would be wonderful.

Also while I'm thinking about it...

The current version of the Mac Book. Does it have a built in card reader or do you have to get that on the side? Either way I could transfer the programs to the little storage card and put it all on like that. But. I kind of like the idea of having a CD so if I need to reinstall the programs again I'll be able too in a way I'm used to.

Okay that's all for now. Any help is most welcome and thank you for your help
Have a lovely weekend!
