One of the somewhat common comments I hear from time to time from potential blind Mac switchers is a wish that more text-to-speech languages were available without having to purchase them. The InfoVox voices are fantastic if you need or want a high quality voice, but if you just need a quick and dirty way to read something in another language, they are a bit pricey for some. Not everyone needs voices that are that good.
Greg mentioned here that the integration of ESpeak into the Mac speech system ought to be worked on. Does anyone know if any work is being done on that yet? I did some searching, but didn't find any information. This seems like something we should encourage the ESpeak developers to work on.
