Renaming files

Hey guys, Is there a way I can rename a file on the Mac? The only way  
I've figured out is to make an alius, but that just makes a name for  
the original file and when it is clicked on, the actual file plays,  
and if you delete it, it won't play. I ask because my Zoom H2 names  
files in an order, and I want to change the names. I had to overwrite  
a file to get another one on. Can someone please tell me how I can  
rename a file? Thanks.
