Dear Darcy,

You are so right: I was using just my arrow keys to move through the list of mailboxes. I've just tried moving through the list using VO +arrow keys and I found my box. hooray! Thanks, Darcy, and thanks for your patience.

Hi Simon. When you move through your mailboxes list, do you use VO arrow keys, or just the arrows themselves? If you use the arrows on their own, you won't see on my mac.

Dear Darcy,

Folowing my strictures with the mailbox I've created in "on my mac", I can't actually see "On my mac" in the list of mailboxes. I can see inbox, "my name.mac" "googlemail" which is my active e-mail address, the usual trash, sent, etc. mailboxes, the macvisionary and macvisionary archive mailboxes I've created, a few more I've created. I can't however see "on my mac" mailbox.

The "my name.mac" mailbox was created automatically when I first purchased my Macbook Pro and had a free subscription to .mac for 3 months. I didn't choose to keep .mac so the "my name.mac" mailbox is now so to speak dead but I dare not remove it because all the other mailboxes seem to exist under the .mac one. I may be talking nonsense but I hope you can understand some of it.

Simon, is this the first mailbox you've created? If so, then the on my mac section of the mailboxes list is probably collapsed. If you expand it it with the VO backslash, you should see your new mailbox. Oh, and by the way, you can move mailboxes around with the VO drag and drop commands. This seems to be one of the few instances where drag and drop actually works properly.

Dear Listers,

I've just created a new mailbox into which I want to move messages from a particular e-mail address. In the box of choices where I can specify the location of the new mailbox I ticked "on my mac". I must admit I did this in order to experiment and see where in fact Mail was going to put the new mailbox. Unfortunately, I cannot find it in the list of mailboxes although I can see it in the dialogue which pops up when I move messages to a specified box. Could you help me to find out the following?
1. Why can't I see it in the list of the mailboxes?
2. Where on earth could it be located? Has it actually been crated outside the Mail programme? 3. Can I move mailboxes around with Voiceover unassisted? I've been reading the help file on moving mailboxes, and it seems to me that it has to be done with drag and drop.

Any help would be appreciated.

Best wishes

Simon
