Something very interesting just happened to me and at an unlikely
place. I had an email with a LiveJournal comment in it and hit view
all comments. When I did this, I got an alert from Safari saying that
I had possible spyware and malwear on my computer and would I like to
scan for it. I thought it was strange and hit cancel, but it scanned
anyway and offered me the chance to download the program, since they
claimed i had ten things wrong. I hit ok, thinking that this was just
an alert but it downloaded the software. when I looked in downloads I
found that it was a .exe file. Then, I did a search for MalwareAlarm
and found this.

So apparently, this is a fake antimalwear program. But since it's a
.exe will it harm my Mac? If so and the removal software given at the
site above doesn't work, how can I get rid of this?

Thanks,
Tiffanitsa
