You need to use Spotlight to do the same thing. VO-M three times will put you in Spotlight, and you can type your search information in the box. That'll search both file names and file contents. Depending on how your Mac is configured, you may be able to use Command-Space to open Spotlight and avoid the VO-M X3 route.
