Blank CD's

Listers what would be the problem if I place blank CD's in the drive  
to be used to burn and the drive keeps spitting them out? I have my CD  
settings configured to open the finder when a new blank CD is  
encountered, so I don't know what the issues could be. I have tried  
this on 12 CD's and the same happens. Does anyone know why?
