If you have an Airport card in your machine, I would think it would more than handle areas of WIFI hot spots. That, having been said, I went to a remote community in Alaska, and tried to connect wirelessly; turns out that my friend has a computer-to-computer network, which I couldn't connect to, because I've had very little experience with that sort of network. She doesn't have a wireless router. Richie Gardenhire, Anchorage, Alaska.

For what it is worth, I've had very very bad experiences with this sort of service, which has nothing to do with using a Mac. The connections tend to be very slow and flaky, particularly for uploads, and they don't come close to cable. VOIP, like Skype, is almost entirely unusable. I do not recommend anything that isn't DSL, cable, or an equivalent. And, to clarify for those who may be confused, this is not the same sort of wireless as Wifi, (i.e. 80211.B, G, N, etc.)

Does anyone on this list use AT&T wireless internet? This is a wireless card (Sierra Wireless). What kind of speeds to people usually get, and have you had any real problems on the Mac?
