There are endless reasons why faster and more powerful machines can be
attractive to people of all walks of life. Audio production for one.
Virtualization of other operating systems through programs like
Parallels Desktop or VMWare Fusion for another. Better performance in
general may be enough for some people. To say that the visually
impaired have no need for computers faster than a certain speed
reminds me of the infamous supposed Bill Gates quote from the 1980's:
"640K ought to be enough for anyone." :)
