Firstly, Mike I need to clarify something. I didn't say that Ubuntu 8.04
wasn't accessible, nor sluggish, however, by the looks of things at least on
my regular pc, it appears that they've broken the live CD where Orca won't
run as root, thus causing the ubiquity installer not to read. My advise to
you is stick with 7.04, o, and if anyone still knows where to get this
thing, let me know as they've takin it off the Ubuntu downloads page which
annoys me severely. This is partly why I am growing to hate Linux more and
more, but that's a discussion not for this list. I'd say as mentioned a sec
ago, for now 7.04's gonna probably be your best bet unless ya install
tt-synth at which point I dono even if 6.10 has the glib and the c++2.2
libraries. BTW, on 7.04, if anyone on here's bought tt-synth aside my6self
and gotten it to work, I'd I*love* notice the stars around the word, love.
I'd *love* to know off list a corse, how the blssid union of soul you
managed to get past the dependency check and get it to work. Well this is
really getting OT so I'm gonna end, but if anyone knows let me know off
list, and also if you've installed with Orca, key concept, with orca, no
sighted help, Ubuntu 8.04, also tell me off list on a standard pc, not a
Mac, although on a Mac too would be nice, how in the world did you do it.

Subject: Re: doul booting ubuntu 7.4
hi there;
i'm wanting to put it on a macbook pro, 1gb ram, 2.0ghz processor, and
80gb harddisk. I want to alacate 20gb for ubuntu if you all think this
would be enough. And chris has found that the latest version is not
accessible, well it is, but it's slugish so i'm thinking 6.1 or 7.4 what
ever one you guys think as well. btw i do not have a dvd burner on here,
thats do not*not* so if it has to be burned onto a dvd... well then i do
not think i'm going to be able to do it, also what speach commands do i
need to do to get speach?

Hi Mike,
What machine will you be putting it on ? In order to give you the best
instructions on how to do it and how compatible it will be on your mac
(because there are steps you might need to take once it's installed to
get everything working on a mac, like sound and wireless), we need to
know which mac you'll be putting it on.
