On a Mac Book, you have to use the FN key, along with the Vo keys.

Hi listers.
I went to my apple store, and was shown voice over on a mac book.
One odd thing I noticed is that the vo keys plus space did not open
programs such as safari. When I hit the vo keys plus space, I got a
beep sound, and nothing happenned. The apple concierge had me use
some other keyboard command.
note: I had all the cursors set to follow one another, except for
voice over cursor following mouse.
Is this typical behavior of a mac book? This is the model I will be
purchasing shortly. Or, was something slightly off with the system I
tried? I know you can use vo keys plus space on an Imac to open
things.
Thanks for your advice,
John
