I've always love your post and the only reason I said it that way is because I am amongst friends. If it would have been a AFB convention then it would have been omitted. I just got back from a Blind and Low Vision demonstration where yours truly demonstrated the Mac and it's uses while confronting the myths that were out there about us and the screen reader and rest assure that I didn't curse, but I did kick some a$$ if I may say so myself. Come on people lighten up, we are not talking to the AFB we are talking to friends. The thing that gets me is that no one actually post to the AFB list and tell them how wrong they are. You get on me for one simple word and over look all my good. Again point well laid out and well taken. I am very happy to announce that we will soon have three or more Mac list members, I will have three people to train and I think one of them curses. Please be kind to her.

Oh, and actually Shaun, one thing you said, regarding people not noting how Mac users cuss is false. <smile> In all honesty, that was one of the first things that jumped out at me; -the seeming prevalence of the lack of intelligence of blind / VI Mac users. I.E. Mac users as a whole tend to have the reputation of being a bit more intelligent than the usual Windows user, (whether true or not) <smile> however, my first exp with some of the VI users I'd heard from, really went quite the other way, -leaving the above stereotype quite in reverse in my own experience.

Now, obviously, there are some extremely intelligent people here, and the above is afterall, only a stereotype, however, remember that the world tends to have a nasty lil habit of judging people on such.

<smile> I'm sure you catch my meaning.

Thanks for reading and have an awesome day!…

I can tell you right now, that if I read two notes by two different people, on just about anything, and one is full of cussing, and one is written intelligently; whether I agree or disagree with the intelligent person, I'm certainly going to have a bit more respect for them. <smile>

Now, anyone who knows me, knows that I certainly have the skill to interject the perfect / creative / well-placed curse from time to time when necessary, ( and I do make it a good one! :) ) -and trust me, it's an art form, <smile> however, when you've got quite a lot of people very able to express themselves very well, who happen to be in the majority, and a small group of folks cussin' their lil brains out 'cause they're upset and they're not getting the attention that they think the product they use deserves, *sniff* (no matter how true it may be) it just doesn't make for great press! <smile>

Know what I mean?… There are certain times when eloquence and elegance really make the day.

Those are crap statements. We take shots at Microsoft all the time and call them all sorts of names without a second thought. Nobody says use mature language when the're at a football game or a NASCAR event. Please get off the high horse and take a stand for what you believe. this is not a presidential election and Windows or Mac is not the Holy Bible for Christ sake. A curse word will not hurt Apple in the least. The people writing the blog aren't sitting around saying Uh, those Mac users have such fowl mouths. It is clear that they don't even read this list, because if they did they would see that the Mac can do whatever is needed including run Windows better than a Windows machine. If you don't stand for something, then you'll fall for anything. I admit that maybe the word could have been butt instead of a^^ but really guys, this doesn't hurt anyones opinion of Apple unless they are Nuns or something.
