Open Office 3 is currently in beta and it is pretty accessible with
Voice Over. Alternatively, if you are looking for a word processor
check out either Nisus Writer Express or Nisus Writer Pro dependent on
your needs.

NB - Currently the release of Nisus Writer Pro 1.1 does not give Voice
Over users access to footnotes after page 1 as the beta release did. I
am in contact with Nisus development who are being very helpful and
are currently looking into the problem.
