Here's the deal with iTunes. Once you get used to the library, and get
things set up, it's really great. As far as playing 1 off files like voice
mail, just vo shift m on the file name, select "Open With" and choose vlc.
Then it won't open in iTunes and add it to your library. I spent a whole
summer in the iTunes way of working, and I must say that it is truly an
interesting and convenient way to work. Hope that helps.

Hi Erik,
You said: Well guys, it's byebye itunes for me. I will probably use it
as a pod catcher, since it works quite well in that regard, but it's VLC
for me from now on. I'm sick of it importing my voice mail messages and
audiobooks into my music library, and all the other rediculous clouning
around it does just to listen to music.
TK: Well, that's an interesting opinion. Clowning around? I'm not sure
I know what you mean here but I'll let you have your opinion. iTunes is
a wonderful program in my opinion that has far more advantages than
simply being a Pod Catcher. You just need to get used to the way it
deals with things that is different than the way that the majority of
Windows users have become accustomed to. VLC is good as well, but I see
no need to slam iTunes. There are simple ways of doing things
differently that will eliminate the frustrations you speak of. Anyway,
you're welcome to do your own thing and all the power to you.
Later...
Glad that's over... Fwew!
