Hi Scott and Dean,

You could just go to:

http://www.apple.com/itunes/freesingle/

instead of navigating first to the apple.com/startpage
and then using item chooser to find the free single of
the week. However, I'm not sure whether UK, Australian,
Canadian, etc. users will be able to use this method,
since the apple.com page listing shows the Single of
the Week for the US Store only.

There are different featured items for each of the country
stores.

The only place that I know you can find the listings of
what is being offered for each country is the MacRumours
forums where volunteers keep track of what the recent
free song postings are. If you try a link to a song that
is specific to another country's iTunes store, you won't
be able to navigate there (or if you do, you'll have
difficulty getting back to your own store's settings for
purchases).

I'll paste in the link(s) and you can bookmark it, but the
way I get this is by doing a Google search on
"macrumors free iTunes 2008" and then I read through the
top post entries. Here are the copied current links, since
navigation to same-page links is still an issue:

U.S.:

U.K.:
http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=4681849#post4681849

Canada:

Australia:

France:

The Netherlands:

Japan:

Or, you can use item chooser to navigate to "U.S. Free iTunes 2008",
"U.K. Free iTunes 2008", etc.

The actively listed countries may change depending on which volunteers
pick this up (or drop reporting). If you check the archives post about this,
there was no entry for, say, The Netherlands, a year ago. Read the posts
to find out which day of the week is the usual day new free offerings are
announced, and be aware that these only usually remain "free" for a week
-- after that there's the regular price to purchase.

HTH

Cheers,

Esther

P.S. If there are movie entries, the links usually take you to inaccessible
pages.
