Hi,

I am nearly certain that update does not automatically install. You need to shutdown, and restart holding down the power button until you hear a tone, then release (about 5 secs). At least, that's what the procedure should be on iMacs; not sure about laptops. Alternatively, look in your utilities folder, and see if the update application is there. IF so, run it.

OF course, you may have already done all this and it still is acting odd.

Best,
Scott

Hey all,

Just wondering why the EFI iMac firmware update won't install correctly? I install it and it says the updates are complete, and I even restarted it. However each and every time I go back to software update it acts as though I didn't install it.

It continues to bring up the software update dialog every time I check and always brings up EFI iMac firmware update 1.3.
