Microsoft Reader is an eBook tool that uses the .LIT format which is also a
Microsoft format.

Although Microsoft Reader does have a TTS component, it is not a "screen
reader" and the last time I did a workshop on how to create .LIT files not
everything in Microsoft Reader was accessible to anyone needing a screen
reader.

There is a free download that turns Word docs into .LIT format and I know a
lot of teachers were using this as a means of securing their content.

I think that at one time this format was being considered for NIMAS along
with DAISY and tagged PDF. Not sure if they've progressed with
accessibility. Thanks for reminding me to try it again!

Cheers, Karen
