Hi Scott,

You asked:Am going to be buying a macbook and am wondering if I want to mygrate all my settings from my iMac to the macbook can I use the migration assistant to migrate all the settings across?

Would it be best if I connected the macs via firewire or just use the assistant when i'm running through setup on the macbook?

TK: If you like the settings and user info you have on your iMac, then I'd simply use the Setup Assistant that appears upon startup of the MacBook. This process does a better job of migrating everything than using the Migration Assistant after the fact. You'll need a firewire cable to perform this migration though.

Scott also asked: Doing it via wireless would be slow wouldn't it?

TK: I don't believe you could use the Migration Assistant via wireless anyway and slow is an understatement.

Scott also asked: Is there anything else I need to know before buying a macbook?

TK: There was discussion earlier about the models of the MacBook. If you want DVD burning capabilities, you'll either need to get the higher level White or the Black MacBook to handle this.

Scott: Are the batteries in the macbook user replaceable or can only apple replace a battery?

TK: Totally user replaceable.
HTH.

Later...
