I recently needed to send some information to a client and remembered
VaShawn's post concerning awesomehighlighter.co. I thought I'd give
it a try, but as he mentions, it doesn't seem to work for VO users. I
think the issue is how we select text on a page -- does using vo-enter
actually select text, or is the text just selected internally? I
tried selecting text using vo-enter and also by dragging across the
text I wished to highlight. I couldn't find the highlighted text on
the resulting page looking for changes in text style which either
means that I wasn't able to select it, or that it highlights in a way
VO can't deal with.

Listers I've found a pretty good web 2.0 app that allows the user to
highlight text on a page and it creates a URL for the selected text
that you could send to a friend or coworker. Basically it works like
this.
1. Go to awesomehighter.com
2. Type in the URL for the web page you want to go to in the edit box
and press the highlight page button
3. Once you're on the page and have found the text you want to
highlight, select it and press done
Note: you'll have to use the item chooser or link chooser for the done
link
Here is the problem, the text is highlighted using VO and enter. When
I click done it doesn't show up on the awesome highlighter page as
having had text selected. It does show the URL but not the selected
text. Could someone take a second look and see if maybe I'm doing
something wrong or if the way VO users have to select web text is
causing problems?
