Dear Marshall,

Thank you for your efforts to help us all gain more accessibility on the Mac platform.

From my point of view, the most important and pressing applications which I require would be like an open office suite or Word for Mac although the latter have obviously not been very cooperative. Open office holds more promise. It includes a word processing applicaiton, spreadsheet, database and the equivalent to powerpoint if I understand correctly. Open Office has made some improvements but there is still a very long way to go. Having decided to switch to Mac from Windows, I miss most a reliable and powerful suite of applications that would a match for Ms Office and better. I also miss the multilingual accessibility features in refreshable Braille output but that's probably a different matter.

With best wishes

Simon

Hi Folks,
First of all, let me apologize for the cross posting. There was a Mac Managers meeting here at the University of Utah yesterday. After it was over, I explained the problems we are having with third party programs to the main Mac guru on campus. He seemed willing to help and would like a list of the most important programs. Would you please send me your suggestions? Please send them off list. I will correlate them and repost them for comments before submitting them to this gentlemen.

I realize that this may seem like a duplication of effort, but this gentleman organizes bulk Mac purchases on campus and is also part of the Mac Enterprise consortium so he may be able to whisper (or yell!) in more ears.
Thanks,

Marshall
