Hotmail as a pop download is a pay for service. It used to not be the case, but Microsoft, who needs more money, changed that. There is a way, however, to get hotmail to donload in Apple Mail with an http plugin. However, of late, I have had problems with the versiodownloadn I downloaded and I'm trying to find out if there is an updated version.

This might be a stupid question so I'll apologize in advance if it is. But is it possible to set up my mail client on my Leopard Mac PB 12 laptop so it gets and receives mail from Hot mail? It wouldn't work for me. I didn't know the right information, for mail server, to set it up.

So I tried my gmail account and it worked immediately without another question. It was very fast and easy. But I use my hotmail acct more for chit chatting online in groups. So I'd rather set it up with hot mail instead of gmail.

Does anyone here use hot mail?

I was using vo with hotmail from the online site in my bookmarks, and had no trouble, except when it came to replying to a message and deleting a message I had read. VO would not go to the row of buttons to do those things. I found it with the mouse. Once I'd replied to a message, send was completely accessible, as was the new button, to compose a new message. So it was partially accessible to vo. That makes me think its me not doing something right.

A blind friend on another list suggested that if I set it up in my mail client that it would probably resolve those problems. but I couldn't set it up. I don't know the mail server information. mail.live.com did not work.

thanks for the help.

Mildly frustrated,
janet
