Dear Listers,
I wonder whether you could give me some tips on installing additional
features in Mac Os 10.5 Leopard. I have a feeling that I may have to
install some multilingual support which may not have been installed
when I first ran the installation for Leopard. I was doing it with a
sighted friend, and I am not sure that he was particularly sensitive
to my needs for multilingual support. Can running the additional
install be done without sight using Voiceover? I am pretty desperate
because I have just spent loads of money buying Visiovoice and some of
the voices I use do not read well, because they do not seem to see the
letters properly. I can only put it down to the fact that those
foreign characters do not appear properly in the Visiovoice document
read window. It's so confusing because I'm blind as a bat and can't
tell what is what and what displays what. You can see how frustrated I
am. So I don't know whether it is Mac Os 10.5 not displaying the
fontsproperly or Visiovoice document read window that is not
displaying what I highlight. But all the same it is hell to the tune
of 232 pounds I have spent. So there we have it: spent a fortune and
have bought myself a load of distress. So think twice Listers what you
buy from adaptive technology. Well, I have had my rant and I
apologise, and I shall now probably be banned from the list but there
we have it. I have been working damn hard to buy Visiovoice and now I
am just frustrated. And on top of that, I will probably be told that
it is not Visiovoice but Leopard but how is the poor computer
illeterate blind as a bat person to know?
Have a lovely time
Simon
