All,

Unfortunatly this topic gets stuck on the clasifications and titals of
computers. How much does a quarter of an inch matter for those of us who
don't run on stats.
for example I have a sony that is three years old, has the same foot
print that the air has. Granted it is one pound heavier and 1/3 of an inch
thicker but has two usb ports a dvdr drive and more ram then the air. I can
admit that unfortunatly it cant run lepard but mac sometimes goes for flash
and not always function, How ever in the case of voice over this is far
from true.
As of 2008 the same style of sony has the same processor that the
mbp has and has the same 4 gig ram max that the mpb offers.

in defence of the mac wait for three months and the new mbp's, mb's,
possibly airs will be out. Keep an eye out for the 256 gig solid state
drive. Check out mac rumors dot com for future possibilities from our
great big apple in the sky.

Pray tell exactly what kind of subnotebook comes with the same connectivity
options as the average laptop? There's no room for any of that. The air is
no exception - subnotebooks from any manufacturer are going to be similar if
not even more limited. If you don't like it, don't buy it - but I know many
users and especially developers who love their macbook airs. If you want
more "connectivity options" in a form factor that small, wait ten
years...but even then don't hold your breath.
cheers,
jane
