Hi, I'm not sure, but you might try Disk Warrior. It fixed a similar problem. Keep your broken Mac powered off, until instructed. Otherwise you may BLOW it. 1. Connect your computer to another Mac via firewire. Turn on the Mac you have connected your broken Mac to 2. Boot your broken mac. Before you stop hearing the start sound press either "CMD + F", "CMD + SHFT + F", or just "F". I honestly don't know. You want to boot your broken Mac into firewire disk mode. This will allow you to treat your Mac as an external firewire disk. 3. Use disk Warrior or Disk utility on the fixed Mac to repair your hard drive. I can't garentee this will work. It did for me, but I only had a similar problem. Please unplug the Macs before powering on the Mac that was broken. Remember the shorting out warning above. Hope this helps.
