So, I got this really neeto little IPod yesterday at my local Apple Store.
That is for another post, but, long story short, I got the Shuffle 2nd
Generation 1 gig, Red. I love it, but I am having two issues, one of which
is just down right annoying, the other a which is just down right bazaar.
The one that is down right annoying is when ITunes comes up, it gives me a
dialog, assuming the IPod's plugged in, that tells me to register my IPod.
Now, my local store, at Soutpark Mall, told me we really don't need to do
that per sey. They're right. We were able to get around that by hitting
return, when ITunes comes up, or, when I insert the IPod, but, of corse if
we hit continue, then, we have to do like the store, and accept the terms
which isn't accessible, and all that other crap. I just wonder if there is
a way I can tell Itunes to not keep bringgin up that cottin pickin dumb
bunny dialog every time I open itunes with the thing plugged in, or plug it
in with it running already. I can't do anything really with tabbing around
in ITunes, till that box is dismissed with the return key. Being the first
button in there, is register later, I gather that since I'm not hitting the
tab key first, I gather, that is probably most likely what I'm hitting
return on. Again, I can deal with this, it's not really a problem as much
as really annoying. The Windows version of ITunes seems to do the same
thing. But, this isn't a Windows list so I'll refrane from that OT comment.
I'll just say this: I'm using Window-eyes 7 with the itunes scripts from
script central. Anyway, enough a that. Getting back on topic, as is, So,
that is the first question.
My second one that is so bazaar, and a corse I'm speaking here of ITunes
7.7, so, I think! the latest build. Software update shows no updates
available, let's just put it that way. When I go down in my sources
outline, and I get to Chris's IPod, since that is what I called it, now,
BTW, yes I'm speaking of the Chris's IPod playlist, located under devices in
the source payne. Sorry, just wanna be sure we're on the same page here.
In any side, once there, if I tab, like I do in my music library, I really
don't hardly get anything. If I vo right enough times, I do! reach the
songs outline, but, then down arrowing like I normally do in my music
playlist, isn't working. I literally gotta interact with the songs outline,
then, even then, I can't down arrow. I gotta vo right one time to get to
the name collumn. Other wise I'm on the track I guess, collumn. then, if I
vo down I can hear the title of the songs on the IPod. The other really
strange thing that I'm seeing is like I said, I cannot tab to the search
field, within the IPod source. Again, Yeah? I can voice over to it, no
problem there, except that the box is dimmed. so, obviously, I can't type
in it. That's fine for now, being I only have maybe 20 songs on my IPod
anyway, but what happens once it gets rather full with about a hundred or
so. I don't wanna have to sit here down vo down vo down vo down vo down, ho
down! LOL! May as well be a vo ho down huh. Let's ringa round the sorcey,
no, just kidding. Heheheheh, seriously though, in all seriousness, Can
someone get me a hand. I see where this could be really good, and really
easy, but why that field is doing that. I know it's not dimmed on the
Windows machine. Yeah, I know, you only can use it on one machine with
itunes at a time or it'll delete your IPod library. I found that out the
hard way. It's fine though as I still have the stuff in my local itunes
library on both machines, so, really, being plus, it was so empty anyway, it
really wasn't an issue. Anyway, I've been just using Winamp and the library
in there to copy things to the IPod, but that is kind of annoying as jaws
doesn't do very well with the library, and being this is an Apple product,
and being I do have a full blown Apple Mac, I'd rather stay within the Apple
line if I can.
If yall think you can help let me know. Also, where do I go to turn on or
off auto-fill. I don't see IPod options by vo shift emming on my IPod in
the source outline. I know in windows you just right click it in the source
list then go to IPod options, but that doesn't seem to be there on the Mac.
Thanks. Really sorry for all the questions, but any, or all, that you can
answer would make my day. My best friend's coming in not tomorrow Friday,
but next Friday from Arazona, and I'm in NC, so we don't see each other but
maybe once or twice a year, so, I'm gonna get him a Shuffle while he's here,
but, I'd like to know how to do this first, so I can help teach him when he
gets here, so we got a week, no real quick hurry, but, the sooner the
better.
Chris.
