Dear Will,
Talking interface - which by the way you will need to check in
Visiovoice - as I understand it can be used instead of Voiceover
with either English or other languages. I understand from reading
the manual that you need to off-load Voiceover if you want to use
Visiovoice interface. I understand from the manual in visiovoice
that you can use its interface in a similar way you use Voiceover in
various applications. I haven't tried it myself but the Visiovoice
interface certainly is supposed to give you reading commands and
typing echo in its various forms.
As I said in our brief conversation, you can read an e-mail or web
page using Visiovoice "document read" or "read selection" features
which work the same way. First of all, you have to make sure you
launch visiovoice. Then let's say you want to read an e-mail in
French you have just come across in your email inbox. Open the e-
mail, highlight the text of the message with command+A and then
press Visiovoice shortcut command control+shift+C. This command will
paste the content of the highlight into a floating window for
Visiovoice to read in your "document read" or "read selection" window.
Although you cannot use the Voiceover read functions in this
"document read" window, you have however, certain Visiovoice
important functions you can use:
1. You can fast forwrd or rewind the text that is being read by
pressing control+shift+f or control+shift+r respectively. You can
pause and play the text. You can also change the reading language on
the fly with the shortcut keys control+shift+1 - 5. I say here 1 to
5 because each number corresponds to the language you have most
recently used in Visiovoice.
so if you go to Visiovoice and in the menus find voice options tab,
and if you choose in the language pop-up button Bruno, he will
probably be the second language after Alex. In Visiovoice voice
configurations tab I'm talking about, you have two pop-up buttons.
The first is for your "document read" or "read selection" window.
The second is for Visiovoice itnerface.
I know it sounds complex now but once you play with it a bit, you
will know instantly what I'm talking about. Visiovoice has all the
above shortcut keys described in the menus. They are system wide and
can be activated from most applications though I find that they do
not work from within Nisus Writer Pro. They do work from Safari,
Male, Textedit though.
Hope this helps a little.
Best wishes
Simon

Hi to all
What is the "talking interface" in Visio voice?
Also, when i select text in an e mail how do i get it to read with
visio voice?
this will be my answer, as Anne has stated to read mails in another
language but also to switch to a voice on a website.
Do i have to read the whole page out in one go or can i use Viseo
voice to navigate a page itself
