Hi Kaare,

Make sure that you're not browsing in the mounted dmg file when you try to eject. For example, if you have a Finder window up where you're looking through folders on the mounted dmg file or checking an accompanying README document, the system will consider the file "in use" and won't allow you to unmount it.

If you bring up any finder window mounted volumes (including the dmg file) will show up in the sidebar. You can also select them in the finder sidebar (as well as from the Desktop), issue a Command-E to eject, and then they should disappear from the sidebar in Finder.

Cheers,

Esther

Ah what a dmg file will do is mount so that it's on your desktop, you can just eject that with command e.

Thanks. I did copy it, belatedly so I think it may be a hard link rather than the move of this item... Now, I can't seem to delete it from the finder. It's working, so while I learn to fight with the evil browser, it'll keep while I take care of more pressing concerns regarding navigation. Stay tuned for another post:)

Good afternoon folks. A real newb question for you. I went and got skype today and ran the dmg file to set up. Questions follow:

1) when this is set up will the skype be deposited in to the applications folder?

2) if not how do we get it set up properly so that it stays running.

Thanks for any replies you can also skype me at kaare-dehard if prefered.
