I believe there is a wy to resume through the network connect but don't know 
if it is possible through terminal ftp but I recall many years ago that 
there were commandline conditions you could set.

it's there, but does it support transfer resuming and all that sort of
stuff?  I've also never figured out a way to share a folder on an
external drive, there's an option to create a mount point or something
to that effect, but it never shows up in the remote folder listing.  I
probably did it wrong though so will go back to Google.
