Firewire 800 has only one size - 9 pin. It's a rectangular connector
basically the size of two regular USB connectors stacked on top of each
other, and roughly that shape. The connector is keyed in a way, so it will
only fit in one direction.

Firewire 800 is backwards-compatible with firewire 400, you just need the
right cable. Firewire 400 is about the same shape as 800 but instead of
being completely rectangular, one side sticks out like a blunt triangle.
