You do need an account on Real.com. I'm using realplayer 10.5. There
is an 11 but I like the key controls 10.5 gives you. If you wanted
Fieldpass you would goto http://www.nfl.com/fieldpassaudio using
Safari. Find the game you would like to listen too and choose one of
the real links. If you don't have fieldpass it will ask you if you
want to try it free for 7 days and then pay for it. You can pay by
month or year. I did the year thing because they have a good
preseason deal. After you get things set up you'll see an enjoy your
fieldpass link and if you click on it I think you'll go back to the
fieldpass page. Find your game and click on one of the real links. A
page will pop up asking you to sign in to fieldpass. You would use
the same username and password you created when you bought fieldpass.
Be sure to check the box that says remember me on this computer. Some
things you need to be aware of. Safari has a bug in it which has
partially bin fixed. After you sign into fieldpass it might pop right
back to the sign in screen. If you hear the game in a few seconds
then just close Safari, otherwise try signing in again. Be sure to
sign into realplayer before you try to listen to a game. For some
reason I couldn't make this work using the internal browser of
realplayer which I would have preferred but I'm going to find out why.

really? How do you get access to their sports content?
I wasn't even aware that they were accessible!

It isn't better on the Mac, I was just talking about the Windows
version, although Real Networks has been one of the only software
vendors that really has done a lot for accessibility. I see that
they are starting to develop software with some of the features we
would want like real access to their music store. You can already
access their protected content like nfl field pass, but as of yet
they haven't added their music store to their list of features on
the Mac.

Really. I have been wanting for ages to install Real Player. Is
it any better than ITunes? I'd be more than happy to make the
switch if so. Only problem then would be, what would I then use
as a podcast receiver. I like Itunes for that, but when you have
literally speaking over 300 podcasts, ITunes can get really? busy,
and really sluggish.

Why must we wait, wait and wait. Real Networks had an accessible
software along with music store for years.

Subject: iTunes Accessibility - have I been mistaken?
G'day,
I read an article by Peter Abrams about the accessibility
of the iPhone. It's about the *lack of* accessibility of
the iPhone, mostly. Anyway, in the comments of course
there's the requisite - I thought - idiot saying that
iTunes isn't accessible.
I assumed this was a Windows user who had no clue and I was
rather, erm, strident in informing him of his mistaken
beliefs. Anyway, he's replied again listing specifics of
what he can't do (mainly, interact with the main iTunes
Story window in any way) and saying that "his blind
friend" is not just a Leopard user but a beta tester for
VO. I'm not a VO user myself as many of you know, so I'm
concerned that I may have ended up with both feet in my
mouth here!
The article is here:
>
If you search for "Big Man" you'll jump to his first
comment. If you want to leave a reply on that web page,
please please please be very polite and no flaming! Just
facts about whether he's right or not... I don't want to
create problems or "apple fanboy rage" or make VO users
look bad in any way. If you want to reply on the list, I'll
leave another comment there with links to the list replies
via the archives.
Cheers,
Ricky
