Did you wait until the export was finished before continuing to work
with
VoiceOver? At least under Tiger there was a warning that VoiceOver's
speech interrupts audio exports. If so, your conversion might have
been interrupted. Just re-import to an mp3 file manually (e.g.,
select
the track and use the contextual menu shortcut VO-Shift-M, then choose
"Convert Selection to MP3".)
