If you can find say an eighty gig ipod video on e bay or somewhere, you can
install rock box on it, and you would have total accessibility. And you
would not have to deal with itunes.

Also, have a look at the wolverine media players.

Mike:

Don't do it!!! I mean, if you want to use it on your own and you have
no usable vision, don't do it.

I purchase a touch for my wife who has vision and can tell you that
this is exactly the same as the iPhone, just without the phone. Saying
that the buttons don't move is kind of incorrect. For example, you
need to move a slider bar on the side of the screen to move up and
down through your music. Further, you need to hit one of about 8 or 10
icons on a touch screen in order to access certain functions on the
device.

Can you use it...maybe but you certainly will face a lot of
challenges. You would have a much easier time with the iPod Classic
that has the click wheel.

Incidentally, Tuesday is the day Apple is releasing new versions of
the iPod line. I'm concerned they could can the iPod classic or
further reduce its accessibility. I may be running to a store to get
one of the remaining classics if that's the case as I'm using a 3 or 4
year old iPod Photo.

Just be careful what you purchase. At least go to the Apple Store and
play with one of the models they have out for sample purposes.
