Well...I don't know, but when I fired up the Mac yesterday, VO worked, and when I rebooted the box again, I heard the Apple sound :)
So everything seems to be nice now :)

Does one need to hold this key combination for 3 chimes before releasing them? I seem to remember that this was what Anne had suggested that I do once I gotinto trouble. With best, Simon

Hi David,

Could you have your speaker muted? Try holding down Fn+F12 if you have the newer keyboards. The other thing that you might have to do is reset the PRAM by rebooting the computer while holding down the "P" "R" Control and Option keys, which may take some doing. I hold down Control and Option with the pinky and ring finger of my left hand and press the "R" with the forefinger of my left hand. My right hand holds down the "P" key and presses the power button to restart. Tim may have other suggestions.

Cheers,

Esther

Hello folks.
Can anyone of you help me?
Something have happened, whit the sound on my Mac Mini...
When I fire it up, there's no apple sound.
When I fire up VO, there's no speaking, but a seldom time, when I do "illegal" things on the keyboard, I get the sound - wich also says that there's no problem with the speaker either the sound card
I don't get any sound when I play stuff with iTunes or VLC
Any suggestions?
I'd be very happy if anyone can help me out with this.
Kind regards
