Esther, to add to this thread. I've attempted to use command+period
and I've found that it doesn't stop the sync in progress. Not sure
why, but I wonder if it's something to do with the process of writing
to the device and it can't be interrupted or something. Don't know,
but not very helpful. :)

the process, that might not have provided a fix (at least from my

it's a good thought. In the case of multiple background processes I
think it only applies to the one currently active.
