interesting. What were you typing in the search field? Perhaps the
term you typed is somehow associated with music?
I just got some good medical lectures from Itunes U using power
search, so it seems to work alright here. Maybe quit Itunes and try
again with a new search?

Just now I did a power search in iTunes U. The search came back with
nothing found in Music, even though I selected iTunes U. In fact,
just to double check it, I VO Left and reviewed the search fields
and popup box selection for iTunes U and the iTunes U was still
checked. But still the returned search info said that nothing was
found in Music, but I didn't have Music selected.
Just thought I'd put this out to see what all you might think about
it. I guess I'll let the iTunes store know about this.
