The checkbox is there. you neeed to go to system prefs, sharing, windows
file sharing and you will find it there.

Subject: Sharing files between Mac and Pc?

Hey folks.
I have some things i ponder over, one of them being the following: I
have a Pc that i want to be able to share files with from the Mac and
viseversa. My plans are also to share my external hard drive over this
network.
I can reach the files in the shared folders of my pc, right enough,
but when i try seeing my mac from my Pc i'm greeted by a login window
where i must type my name and password. However, on the Mac Mini that
i borrowed i could reach the folders on my Mac from the pc without
having to type a name or a password, so what obvious thing am i doing
wrong here, and what can i do to correct it?
One strange thing is that the help mentions a check box in the
"accounts" panel that says: "allow network users to log in to this
machine" or somesuch, the strange thing is that this check box isn't
there, i can't see it.
I thought confusion was something that belonged in the windows world.:-)
