Hi,
I am coming clean with the idea we have been dancing around at ICE. We
will not provide official Windows support, however several
administrators are going to put together a way for Windows users to
use ICE.
We do not have resources enough to fund such an OS that whos ability
to be so unstandard in its protocalls will be an administrators
nightmare.
Thanks for listening,

Hey Victor
As you can see the platform war is just as strong in the blind
community :). I have to say I agree about NVDA in certain instances,
I've been able to use it to get to things that a lot of the
commercial screen readers simply could not see at all. I don't know
if I'd say it works like a champ, though, at least not quite yet in
regards to functionality. I'm of the opinion that it is on the Mac
where the greatest strides are being made in accessibility--not just
making programs accessible but the mindset behind it as well,
something I believe to be just as important. But ignoring the
accessibility improvements on other platforms isn't right.
Nevertheless I admit I'm biased in favor of OS X for anumber of
reasons, accessibility being a big reason but by no means the only
one. Still I believe each platform and accessibility solution should
be judged on its own merit or lack there of as the case may be.

Guys, you forget about NVDA, www.nvda-project.org, an open source
screen reader for Windows that works like a champ.

Congrats on the Imac! :) I hope you are enjoying it! :)
I wouldn't say that windows is great, either, but that's just my
opinion. No built in screen reader and expensive third party
software to gain basic access to the computer are the major
downsides of windows as far as I'm concerned.

Vic, you are correct in that it's what solution gets the task
done. However, I have to say that I'm not so sure I'd go as far
as to say windows is great. Yes The Mac and Linux are great. :)

Ideally, we should be open to every and all solutions out there.
As far as I am concerned, Mac is great, Windows is great and so
is Linux.
