Hi,
I personally use nothing, including Speech Recognition, airport, and
bluetooth. These processes take a lot of battery, and in the case of
speech recognition, RAM.
I find that if I run TTS 1.2.0 or earlier I don't have enough RAM to
play with, and the cpu speed is reduced, but I don't notice an effect
on the battery. By The Way: The drain on resources is expected from
any such utility that converts text to speech.
Thanks for listening,
Alex,

Hello Will,
That doesn't look bad to me. When you use it away from a power
source, how many apps are you running and are you running Windows? I
timed my MacBook yesterday, and it ran for two and a half hours with
7 apps running, my Time Machine backup external hard drive plugged
in, and my PAC Mate 20 in use the whole time. airport was also on.
Cheers,
Anne
