Hi,
Thanks, Greg. The NLS restriction came up earlier in discussion of
Katieplayer. Here's the link to the NLS strategic business plan:
http://www.loc.gov/nls/businessplan/2003.html
In the section titled "DTB Player and medium design contract", they
allowed only for one specific player device and PC-based software only
(contracted directly by NLS...HumanWare has been awarded this
contract...so software and device for NLS playback can come only from
HumanWare).
Cheers,
Esther

An important note: Olearia, and for that matter no other software
based player, can not play NLS books. THis is due to the NLS
refusing to approve software players to have access to their
encryption.
We are working with RFB&D to be able to ply their encrypted books
and expect a solution to that soon.
If you are bothered by the NLS restriction on playback of their
books I would urge you to contact your representatives in congress.

Which format are the DTBs from the NLS Digital program, and does
this program play them? I normally play them on my Icon, but would
play them on this machine if that were an option.
Thanks,
Dave
