I was just looking at the Louis braille translator and absolutely adore it! It seems so easy to use and I can't wait to try it out. But I have a few questions first. All but one actually applies to all Mac translators. 1. I have a Versapoint Duo braille embosser and am thinking of buying a Braille Blazer, since I've always loved the latter and it talks and is lighter than the former. I'm gonna try the Versapoint and see if I can reset it to factory defaults (tried it once and appeared to print extra stuff on the sides of the page) and let the translation software handle the text. If it's really as complicated as the manual makes it sound I'm selling it and will post here. In any case, can I use one of those embossers with my macbook and Leopard if I get a usb to serial adapter? 2. I want to print a map of Greece. Is there any difference between the graphics produced by the two embossers? Can Louis produce graphics? If I were to emboss a print page from the web as a graphic or scan in a page from a book and do the same, could I get it to show me the print letters instead of translating them into braille? Can I make it emboss in large or extra large print so I can feel them more easily? What about pictures? If I had two pictures of two different people, could I actually tell the difference between them in a tactile version? 3. I'm very impressed with the fact that Louis can translate ancient and modern Greek. But I see that it only supports Grade 1 for modern. Will this change in the future?
