Hi Cara,

If you've been trying out Jacob's suggestions of pressing the center button, you can continue to press the button and cycle back through to playing the song. Or you can just wait a short time and the Nano will automatically go back to now playing mode as David mentioned.

If you don't have "genius playlists" selected, center presses (on music) will give you scrubbing, ratings, and shuffle modes. Pressing once more cycles you back to normal play. If you have genius selected pressing the center of the wheel (on music) will give you scrubbing, genius, ratings, and shuffle modes. The next center press will cycle you back to normal play.

I put a link to the user manual in my post, which also gives information on selection options when you hold down (as opposed to click) the center button.

Incidentally, cycling through these menus is based on continuing to work with the wheel. If you don't touch the wheel for a while you will get reset to now playing mode.

Cheers,

Esther

It's the last item on the main menu. So hold down the menu button for two seconds then go all the way to the bottom.

Hey All, this is actually probably a pathetically silly question, but what is the quickest way to get back to the 'now playing' mode on the nano 4G? I'll RTFM when I locate a pdf.

Thanks so much in the interim! You all rock!…

Smiles,

Cara :)

Hi Chris
First select a song from the album you want to play. When it starts playing, press the center button until the iPod says "shuffle." You can choose off, songs, albums, or artists. Selecting songs will shuffle all the songs in either the album or playlist you're in, or if you've selected all songs from an artist, will shuffle them all. You need to press the center button three or four times to get to the shuffle menu, you'll first cycle through scrubbing, genius, and ratings before you see it.

OK, I know from the main IPod screen, I can click on shuffle songs, or I can shake the thing, assuming I have shake shuffle set. but, is there a way, rather than it shuffling the entire IPod, what if I only want it to shuffle just one album only.

Chris.
