Ok, how about another approach.
1 Go into the history window with command-4
2 Interact with the table, voicemails or missed calls are the first listed there, select one event and press vo-shift-m to bring up the context menu, if the caller has left a voicemail then a "listen" option will be available, press return, when the voicemail has finished playing then just hit the delete key to dispose of it.

OK, this also applies to Tiger, and to Leopard both.

1. While in the main Skype window, if you vo around, you'll notice that there are a few unlabled buttons. you need to vo h on them, until you find the one that says I think something to the effect of view missed events. or it may say view history. Sorry I'm not in there right now to look. It'll be obvious though.

2. vo space on this, then vo right once to the table.

3. Interact with the table.

4. OK OK don't flip out. I know, it said a lotta unknowns, I know. Just hear me out.

5. these are virtically arranged, meaning you can now vo down arrow through them. They're gonna all say unknown, but, look!

6. Hit vo shift m on one a them.

7. now look in this menu. If the first option is call, then this is a call in your history. if it is a voice mail, the first option'll be listen.

Vo space on it, and boom!

It's unfortunate that these history items in the table, unlike the contact list, don't read. but a little hit and miss, and you can do it really well.

Now, if you vo m, not vo shift m, but literally in your menu bar, vo m and go to the call menu, there's an option to clear call list. So if you wanna clear it out every now and then, which I'd suggest, you can. Be aware that'll clear all calls, chats, and even voice mails.

Now quit interacting with the bable, then vo left one time and you'll hear button. now vo h on that button. Notice it said view contacts. Hit vo space and that'll switch that table back over to your contacts instead a your history.

Yeah, you can go to history in the window menu of the menu bar, but I have not found that screen reliable at all.
