On the iPod Nano 4G, you generally don't want to sync the entire music library. Yes, you could autosync everything in your iTunes to your iPod, (including the Music playlist) but chances are this wouldn't fit!

Just create your own playlists of content that you want to put on the Nano and check any of these. Remember that you can select large blocks of songs using the Browser in combination with the Search Text field arguments and move to the Songs Table, select all (Command-A), and create new playlists from the selection (Command- Shift-N). You can also add these as blocks to existing playlists -- so instead of the Command-Shift-N you could bring up a contextual menu in the Songs Table and add your selection to an existing playlist.

The current version of iTunes (8.0.2 update of a day or two ago) seems to have fixed the bug that Simon encountered of trying to add his tracks selected by album (with the browser) to playlists. (He had to actually click his mouse somewhere in the Songs table before he could bring up a contextual menu to add to playlist).

Cheers,

Esther
