The playlists that you can check to transfer to the iPod are the same ones that you have already been using in iTunes. You might want to look through the archive post discussions, because quite a lot of the different ways that people choose to transfer content has been covered there, along with a complete list of issues and recommendations. At a guess, you're not seeing this playlist because the table where you check your playlists on the Music tab for the Nano is a scrolling table. You need to interact to start scrolling with VO-shift-s and then arrow down about 7 or 8 presses then stop scrolling with escape to go through and check the playlists you want.
