Ok thank Scott, that worked , and I was able to get in there and
delete the file.

Ok, how can I go about doing this? When not backing up, I don't
see mytime capsule's drive anywhere, not on the desktop like any
other drive, or it doesn't appear to be in devices from what I can
see. there is an item in finder with the name of my time capsule
though, tried to open that, and couldn't.

Hmmm, what you may try first if you have not done so, is to delete
the sparse bundle which is the bundle with the name of your
machine. Try this and if that fails, I'd have to concur that
reformatting might be in order. I don't know how long you've had
the unit, but it's unlikely defective and there is no flaw in the
software I'm aware of and that's not to say there aren't flaws,
but none that I can recall causing this issue. I've been using my
Time Capsule for a while with good success. Btw, what you may wish
to do is for the first backup, plug your Mac into the TIme Capsule
via cable. To backup any significant data, especially for the
initial backup, will take an incredibly long time and could cause
the backup to get possibly hosed do to interference. Not again to
say it would trash the backup, it's just the probability goes up
with such a large backup.

Hi Scott, having an issue where Time machine is stuck on
preparing backup for the longest time. Was looking at some of
the discussion forums on the apple website, and they had
suggested reformatting the Time Capsule's drive, , and to do a
totally fresh backup, so that makes me wonder if it's a flaw in
the Time Capsule, or whether it's something to do with Time
Machine?

Sorry, I must have missed the post. WHat problem are you having
with backing up to your Time Capsule. Yes, Superduper is a good
product and does give you full and daily backups.

Hi all, since I'm having that issue in backing up to a time
capsule which I posted about earlier, would it actually be
better to use SuperDuper? I've heard a lot of good things
about it.
